New Deck - Day One!

Well, we've decided to embark on a deck project.  Our plan is to build a platform type deck that runs off the stoop of our side door and into the backyard.  The large area in the back will be 16 feet out from the house by 24 feet wide.  We think that it will be a great entertaining and lounging space!  We got started with a LOT of help from everyone.  Dad (That would be J Townsend) spent some major deck conceptualizing time (even with charts on product price comparisons from Lowes, Menards, & Home Depot) and drawing out plans over the past two weeks to help get us going.  Mom, Katherine, & Colin provided some serious manual labor (Eric got off pretty easy, he was at church all day), but helped when he got home.  At one point, I think Katherine challenged Dad for project foreman, or would it be forewoman - she really did a great job! We worked for about 6-8 hours and got all the blocks laid in the ground.  We only had one minor deck building blunder - I accidentally cut the DirecTV line to the basement.  Oops!  Call before you dig people!  THANKS EVERYBODY!
Project Foreman JT (Note the Hilfiger overalls, he's high class!)

Wow, Ma T says, "These Little Tikes tools sure work great!"
The tape measure is a little heavy for the sweatpants!
